Parishioners of St John the Evangelist and their guests, including several priests who had worked in the parish over the years, turned out on December 27, the Church’s patronal feast day to witness the dedication of the building and to celebrate the 175th anniversary of the parish.
Archbishop Gilbert presided at the liturgy giving, what he described as “brief homilies”, as he led the congregation in an appreciation of the beautiful ceremony of dedication.
At the end of the Mass, parish priest Fr Paul Jesuraja thanked all who had worked on the project and honoured the priests present who had served in the parish and former parish administrator Malcom Joseph. |
