Michael Joseph Clark
Michael Joseph Clark
Aug 2, 1944
- Feb 18, 2008

Michael Clark distributor of the Catholic News, died on Monday, February 18, at the Port of Spain General Hospital after a relatively brief struggle with cancer.

For the past three years delivering the Catholic News every week was a most important part of Michael’s life’s work.

Michael was buried at the Lapeyrouse Cemetery on Wednesday, February 20 after a Mass in celebration of his life at the Holy Rosary Church where he had served as a lay minister.

Archdiocesan Administrator Fr Jason Gordon, a former Rosary parish priest officiated.

Parish priest Fr Clyde Harvey proclaimed the Gospel, preached the homily and led the funeral rite. The Gospel for the day – Wednesday of the second week of Lent (Mt 20:17-28) was most appropriate in reflecting on Michael’s life.

Michael served with humility and with an enthusiasm that won him many friends. He delivered the Catholic News faithfully and cheerfully – a true bearer of the Gospel – Good News.
The Catholic News extends sincere and prayerful condolences to his wife Maureen, his children Kim, Gary, Michaele de Freitas and Mark-Anthony and his sister Diana.

• The Catholic News also extends prayerful condolences to Mr and Mrs Barney Belmar and the entire family on the death of their daughter Patricia Belmar-Dennis on February 14. The funeral Mass was celebrated at St Charles Church, Tunapuna on Tuesday, February 19.
May they rest in peace.
