Four years ago, Anne Sahid was inspired to produce an enactment of the Stations of the Cross for the parish of St. John the Baptist in St Augustine.
The hills on the way to Mount. St Benedict seemed ideally situated for such a production. This was an overwhelming success and so once more the parishioners will carry out the production.
For the first two years, the part of Jesus was played by Matthew Eversely, and last year Fr Josh, who at the time was on assignment to the Monastery at Mount. St Benedict. Fr Josh who hailed from India has since been called back to his home.
The production this year will feature the famed whippers whose professional handling of the whips has always created a sense of reality will be once more offering their services.
Not to be left out, the weeping women have been preparing their voices so as to present an authentic reproduction of the weeping women of Jerusalem
The reenactment will take place on Good Friday March 21, from Pax Gate, which is at the top of St. John Road, beginning at 4.45 a.m.
This will be the climax to a rosary walk, which will begin, from the bottom of St. John Road at 4.00 a.m. All are invited to experience this portrayal which in the past has inspired the feelings and emotions that may have transpired two thousand years ago.
