St Lucian gospel artiste sings at cathedral

Christine Wollmann
Christine Wollmann

St Lucia’s internationally acclaimed gospel singer Christine ‘Rambally’ Wollmann thrilled the 10 am congregation at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Castries on March 9. She sang Highland Cathedral from her 2008 CD Grace Serenade before Mass.

During the collection she rendered her special version of Amazing Grace from the same CD, and after communion did an incredibly moving rendition of How Great Thou Art from her 1999 CD For His Glory.

Wollmann, who is based in the United States and is a friend of Msgr Patrick “PABA” Anthony, was home for a concert at the National Cultural Centre on March 8. Other concert performers were locally-based artiste Ronald ‘Boo’ Hinkson and special surprise guests from Toronto, Canada, Keith and Matthew Monrose.

Wollmann performed selections from For His Glory, 2002 CD Nailed Scarred Hands, and Grace Serenade. This was her second concert in her homeland; on September 26, 2005, she gave her first performance before a St Lucian audience and contributed part of the proceeds from the show to the St Lucy’s Home for the homeless.
