The Association of Catholic Men’s in the Eastern Vicariate held its 8th annual one-day windball cricket tournament at Constantine Park, Macoya, on Monday, March 31.

Participating teams came from Diego Martin, Laventille, Arouca, Malabar, Santa Rosa and Sangre Grande.

The day began with praise and worship with Sangre Grande’s Light of Christ Mens Group and then proceedings began with matches for both the young and the young at heart.

At the end of the day, Diego Martin’s CREW (Christ’s Resurrection Essential for Winning) won the Challenge trophy in the under 20 category while Playmakers of Sangre Grande retained the challenge trophy in the 20 - 40 category.

Malabar Masters also retained their challenge trophy in the 40 and over category, and the Laventille youth group female team won the female category challenge trophy.

Trophies were also distributed to the team that scored the most runs, captured the most wickets and was the most disciplined. Frs Dwight Black and Dwight Merrick helped coordinate the event.

The Association of Catholic Men’s groups would like to thank all persons and organizations for making our competition successful.
