The Georgetown diocese has opened an Office of Stewardship, Development and Pontifical Mission Societies (OSDPMS). The new office will be based at the Bishop’s House in Starbroek, Georgetown.

Bishop Francis Alleyne, OSB has appointed Rock Beharry as diocesan director of OSDPMS.

Beharry will be responsible for introducing, animating and supporting Stewardship in parishes across the diocese, according to the April issue of the office’s new quarterly newsletter.

Beharry will also oversee support and practical assistance to parishes as they expand their ministries and structures.

A newly constituted Diocesan Stewardship Council will work in conjunction with the OSDPMS.

To officially launch Stewardship in the diocese, a week of activities was held from April 21 to 25.

Fr Michael Cockburn journeyed from Trinidad to Guyana to share his experiences and knowledge.
