Vibert Medford describes himself as an “evangeliser for art!” His motivation to produce the best artwork that he can is fuelled by a statement made by the late Dr Pat Bishop, “Your art is going to outlive you so do good work!”

As I listened to Vibert, I could feel his energy, passion, sheer joy and exuberance. These feelings he translates into his work by experimenting with various styles and media. Within recent times he has pushed his boundaries to include exploring the world of digital art.

The Couples for Christ (CFC) Magnificat Conference 2013 was a fantastic experience! Held at Holy Name Convent on Saturday, April 20, the theme – Proclaim the Good News ensured that all in attendance understood the need for a deepening of faith and a growing urgency towards evangelisation. Participants came from all over Trinidad & Tobago (CFC and non-CFC), and there were three visitors from our neighbour Grenada who have a newly established CFC Ministry.

It was the lunch hour. My lunch was still unopened on my desk when I became distracted and alarmed by a loud commotion that seemed to be drawing closer and closer to the quiet and peaceful space in my classroom.

This peace and quiet vanished as a host of little people clad in green uniforms swelled into the classroom. Leading this host was three of my pupils, one of whom was almost lifted of the ground by the other two. Tears streamed down a face that was twisted in pain.
