How do I feel about Confirmation? It seemed like I was dreaming. I was excited to get to church to be really confirmed. On Monday, September 14, at 26 years of age, I was speaking to my relatives about my not being late for Confirmation.
Donna-Marie and her family with Archbishop Gilbert.
I walked to my seat and Kenwyn was reading. I felt sad. I missed doing my reading. Then Archbishop Gilbert anointed us with the oil of Chrism. He touched my head and I felt an inspiration through my head and arms. I wondered how Anthony felt. As I went back to sit, I felt like crying. I never before felt my life touched like I did at that moment. My sponsor, Debra, and Anthony’s sponsor, Ms Bruton, held the lighted candles while Archbishop Gilbert said the vows for us to renew. I made a little mistake, but we continued. After Communion, Anthony and I did a beautiful Meditation song. When it was all finished Anthony, Archbishop Gilbert and I took some pictures together. We also took some family pictures. After the Confirmation ceremony, the people went to the Mt Lambert Hall for refreshments. Keil and I left early. My brother-in-law, Kerry, wanted to take us to a restaurant. He said it was a special day for a nice lady. When we were finished we dropped Keil home and then went home. I am so happy that I was confirmed. The holy anointing with oil touched my life. Thank God. I wish I could continue going to class to learn more about God, but with my new job, I cannot. May God continue to bless Anthony and me, so that we live good lives and learn more about God. ________________________________________________________________________________________ **DISCLAIMER**: User comments posted on this website are the sole views and opinions of the comment writer and are not representative of Camsel/Catholic News or its staff.
