The Antilles Episcopal Conference (AEC) will collaborate with the University of Dayton, Ohio, USA in launching a pilot project, Virtual Learning Community of Faith Formation (VLCFF), for the Caribbean Church.

According to the university web-section (https://vlc.udayton.edu), the VLCFFis a growing initiative to offer adult religious education and faith formation anytime and anywhere via the Internet. The goal is to support the Church's professional ministry of religious education and faith formation in cyberspace.”

Bishop Jason Gordon of the dioceses of Bridgetown, Barbados and Kingstown, St Vincent and the Grenadines, will oversee the implementation of the project, which is scheduled to be launched in select AEC (arch)dioceses in September.
Bishop Gordon was recently appointed to chair an AEC ad-hoc committee on communications established during April’s AEC Annual Plenary Meeting in Guyana.

Responsibilities of this committee include: development of an IT platform for the AEC to develop effective means of collaboration between the bishops and AEC commissions;
facilitate the coordination between communications departments of (arch)dioceses of the AEC to develop the communications potential of the Church in the AEC region; facilitate the formation of bishops, priests, religious and laity in the spirituality and skills of communications to deepen the communications capacity of the Church in the region; strengthen the capacities of (arch)dioceses to develop working relationships with the secular media in their (arch)dioceses to facilitate the evangelisation of the media and development of society.
