The process of becoming an abortionist is an insidious one that begins with early indoctrination. Sex education introduces students to contraception and abortion as a choice if an unwanted pregnancy arises out of failed contraception.

When a medical student is told she has to see an abortion, and then do one before she teaches one, desensitisation is in progress. Once the unborn baby is dehumanised, it is easy for the doctor to rationalise that she is a benevolent protector of women’s rights, one of only a few who would make the sacrifice to deliver a woman out of a crisis situation. The universal ethic of mutual benefit that says one human being should not benefit at the expense of another is no longer credible. He thrives on self-justification, having completely lost his sense of right and wrong, and becomes morally and spiritually bankrupt.

62.5% of abortion clinics are located in the inner city and in neighbourhoods where poor and minority people live. As a result, it is easy for these clinics to provide substandard care, where accurate medical records are not kept and post-abortion follow up virtually doesn’t exist.

Patients are told that if a complication develops they should go to the nearest emergency room. The employees of abortion clinics are well paid and are trained to coerce undecided patients into having an abortion that very same day if possible.

The personality of these same clinic employees often changes once the patient is on the examination table, and especially if any attempt is made to resist or complain during the procedure.

Abortion is a multibillion-dollar industry, Government grants and contracts provide $305 million to Planned Parenthood annually! Another $139 million annually is revenue from abortion! Entrepreneurial business types, hired doctors and clinic employees profit handsomely from the abortion industry. An abortion doctor is paid cash, up front, before any service is rendered. Working only four hours per day and only four days a week, a doctor performing thirty first trimester abortions per day, each costing $500, can easily gross $60,000 per week. Imagine the profit for second trimester abortions costing $1,000 and third trimester abortions costing upward of $3,000 each.

The abortion industry also provides fetal tissue for stem cell research, organ and tissue transplantation and harvesting and ultimately human cloning.

The abortion issue is politically charged and is a major factor in nominating political candidates, determining Supreme Court appointees and influencing international policies. The United Nations’ aid programmes have now become a source of extortion for third world countries striving to maintain their anti-abortion stance.

So what causes a dehumanised physician to stop doing abortions? The prayers of the righteous. An abortionist’s heart is so hardened that no words, no picketing, no human effort can change it. She may desire to practice mainstream medicine because primary care OB-GYN physicians who practice abortion do not usually have a decent reputation or a thriving medical practice. Abortionists bear the scourge of being the scum of the medical profession. The average woman would not choose an abortionist as her primary care physician.

Even after the Lord changes an abortionist’s heart, there is a process of re-humanisation that must occur in order to bring healing and reconciliation for years of perpetrating the ugliest of crimes against humanity.
