Fifty fathers of Holy Cross parish, Santa Cruz were honoured by Fr Peter Hill, CSsR and the Social Events Committee with a Father’s Day Prayer Breakfast, the first of its kind in the parish on Saturday, June 20 at Green Meadows, Santa Cruz.
St Peter’s parish Gospel Group (Pointe-à-Pierre) psychologically loosened up everyone with their wide repertoire of charismatic songs. It was hair-raising to hear all the men recite the Come Holy Spirit on their prayer cards.

The invited guests then left the patio and headed for the adjoining breakfast shed where they were served a tasty breakfast.
On their return to the patio, their sub-conscious minds were impressed with the spiritual thoughts from the address by Fr Vincent Espirit FMI who spoke on (1) producing under pressure (2) riding the storms of life with Jesus in their boats and (3) leading their family in prayer.
He underscored his biblical commentary of Mk 4:35-41 with his versatile patois. Mikey Hospedales of the Charismatic Music Ministry gave a powerful testimony of God’s power and love in his life having survived three operations.
Fr Peter thanked everyone for coming and for the services of the Social Events Committee and that of the St Peter’s Parish gospel group. He then imparted his blessings on all.
