What can an ugly crapaud say to us? As I look at this picture of the parent carrying its young, I think of all who care tenderly for others, lifting burdens and making life worthwhile.
I recall the fathers in the recent Love Movement concert, hoisting their children onto their shoulders in a gesture of support and encouragement.
I can only imagine how much it must have cost them in time and energy to be part of their children's lives.
I think of my mother's caregivers who lift her on and off her bed day and night. There must be so many more who give that tender loving care to those who cannot help themselves.
At this time there are persons wiping away the tears of the bereaved, cooking the food to be shared at the wakes, spending long hours with those who are grieving.
Thank you for carrying us when we felt too weak to go on, when we needed to be given a crapaud back ride! S/he's not heavy! |
