On the Feast of the Epiphany, January 6, the official residence of the Archdiocesan Youth Commission located at No. 15, Robinson Ville, Belmont was blessed by Archbishop Edward Gilbert.
On that occasion, the AEC Youth Assembly was launched and representatives of the various Youth bodies within the Archdiocese met to pray for youth and young adults.
The AEC Youth Assembly originally planned for Jamaica has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
However, the AEC Youth Commission has invited all the Youth Commissions of the respective dioceses of the AEC to have a local gathering of youth in July 2007 with the theme, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life” (John 14:6).
Our Archdiocese will have its own Youth Assembly from Friday, July 27 to Sunday, July 29, at a venue to be announced.
This will be an excellent opportunity for our youth, young adults and the young at heart to be involved in the exciting activities that lie ahead.
In preparation for this Assembly, we will be hosting a “Dramafest” competition incorporating drama, dance and song, with the theme “I DARE YOU … follow the WAY, speak the TRUTH, live the LIFE … I DARE YOU!”
Registration packages will be sent to Parishes and Communities very soon.
Further information will appear through this and other media over the next few weeks. In the meantime, kindly contact the Youth Secretariat at 624-0454. |
