Paramin youth becomes a monk

Bro Kevin Felix with his parents
Bro Kevin Felix with his parents, Peter and Molly

On Saturday, February 10, during the 6:45 a.m. Community Mass, Bro Kevin Felix from Paramin pronounced his monastic vows at Mount St Benedict. Present were his parents, Peter and Molly Felix, one of his sisters and a niece.

Msgr Michael de Verteuil, rector of the Regional Seminary, concelebrated with the monks and the seminarians led the congregation in song.

The profession took place in a very simple and solemn ceremony. In his homily, Abbot John underlined the seriousness of the monastic vows of stability, fidelity to the monastic life and obedience.

After the Mass, the monks treated Bro Kevin’s family, the seminarians and some other friends to a breakfast. It was a wonderful occasion and a sign of hope for the monastic community.
