Theology conference

The 13th annual Caribbean Theology Conference takes place in June 4 – 8, at the Redemptorist Retreat House, Dominica.
The theme of this year’s conference is Being Catholic in the Caribbean Today.

The organisers have issued a call for papers from participants in previous conferences. Among the topics suggested are:
• Power (priesthood, parish, women)
• Mariology
• Catholic Education
• The Threat of Fundamentalism, (including Christian Fundamentalism)
• The Challenge of Secularism to Catholic Identity
• Inter-religious Dialogue
• Clash of Theologies in the Caribbean

Msgr Kosak to lead St Thomas Diocese

The Consultors of the Diocese of St Thomas in the Virgin Islands have elected Msgr Michael Kosak as Diocesan Administrator. Msgr Kosak will lead the diocese until a new bishop is appointed by the Holy See.

The former Bishop of the Virgin Island, Most Reverend George V Murry SJ was appointed Bishop of Youngstown, Ohio, USA at the end of January.
