Siparia congratulates couple
married 60 years

Malcolm and Kimlyn Antonio
Malcolm and Kimlyn Antonio

The La Divina Pastora Catholic community wishes to congratulate a special married couple in our community.

Mr and Mrs Malcolm Antonio celebrate their sixtieth wedding anniversary on Monday, April 9.

Many years ago, both the young Malcolm and the beautiful Kimlyn worked at Port of Spain. It so happened that they were both in the habit of buying their lunch at the same cafeteria, and inevitably they met and became friends. Friendship turned to love, and they were married on April 9, 1947, at the San Juan Roman Catholic Church.

Their family consisted of six children, five of whom were their own offspring, and one, a niece. They are the grandparents of six, and great grandparents of two.

Kimlyn has been a housewife for almost the entire 60 years of their marriage, and has absolutely no regrets that she chose to be a stay-at-home wife and mother, even though it was financially difficult.

The advice this couple gives to young married couples is that for a long and successful marriage relationship, both partners must exercise a deep understanding of each other, practise truthful communication, and refrain from selfishness.

On this very special occasion, La Divina Pastora community, Siparia thanks God for His blessings bestowed on Malcolm and Kimlyn Antonio, and prays for the continued intercession of Sts Joachim and Anne, as well as that of Our Lady, La Divina Pastora, on this beautiful couple.

May they enjoy many more years of married happiness.
