Nine persons were fully initiated into the Church last weekend during the Easter Vigil and Mass at the Church of St Francis of Assisi, Sangre Grande.

Fully initiated during the late night, early morning service by parish priest Fr Ian Taylor were: Kimberly (Barbara) Bharath; Tyrone (Joseph) Bhola, Sandra (Faith) Clarke, Beverly (Sara) Fraser, Jassodra (Christine) Harilal, Joseph (David) Hood, Crystal (Margaret) Narine, Rehana (Ava) Rampersad and Geeta (Angela) Singh.

All were fully immersed in the waters of the baptismal font.

In his homily, Fr Taylor called on the newly baptised to be like Christ to their friends, neighbours and family, and challenged parishioners to be witnesses of the risen Christ and to wear the crucifix as a sign of their faith.
