Sunday April 22, 2007 FROM THE PARISHES
Celebrating 250 years of Catholicism in Siparia
The grand finale

Everyone in Trinidad and Tobago is warmly invited to join with the Parish of La Divina Pastora as we culminate the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the establishment of our church here in Siparia.

1) Our exhibition is still open at the church, and may be viewed at any time during the day. The church remains open until 6.00 p.m. each day.

2) There will be a grand cultural presentation at the church at 4.00 p.m. today, Sunday, April. This show will feature music, dance, drama and literature, among other things. Admission is free.

3) A Triduum, conducted by Fr Kevin, visiting from St Lucia, will be held on Wednesday, April 25, Thursday 26 and Friday 27 at the church, beginning at 6.00 p.m. each night. This will be a beautiful preparation for our feast day. A special invitation goes out to all neighbouring parishes.

The Feast day of La Divina Pastora is on Sunday, April 29. Archbishop Edward Gilbert will be the chief celebrant at the Mass, which begins at 10.00 a.m., and will be followed by the traditional procession through the streets of Siparia, with the statue of La Divina Pastora. Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament follows on return to the church.

On Sunday, May 6, we take the statue of La Divina Pastora in motorcade around Trinidad. Mass is at 5.30 a.m., and the motorcade departs the church at 6.00 a.m.
