Sunday May 20, 2007 FROM THE PARISHES
Continuing on the path to success

Another step was taken over the weekend to create effective media teams to operate in Catholic Church parishes throughout Trinidad and Tobago.

The step was the start of a second 4-week workshop entitled Communicating for Success, conducted by the Archdiocesan Commission for Communication (ACC).

The workshop started on Saturday, May 12 at the Bishop Mendes Auditorium, Harris Promenade, San Fernando.

About 30 representatives mainly from Central and South started the course. Also attending were a few representatives from parishes in the North, persons who were unable to attend the first 4-week programme at Curepe and Tunapuna, last month.

Communicating for Success gives participants an awareness of the nature of communication and its technologies. The course also provides the basics of forming a parish communication team.

The course is in response to Synod Resolution #40 of January 2005, which states that “within each Parish a team be appointed to be responsible for all aspects of communications within the Parish.”
