Sunday June 25, 2006 LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Thoughts on Confirmation

DEAR EDITOR: This is addressed to those who are about to be confirmed. Congratulations on staying the course!

After your many months of instruction, we hope and pray that you are filled with anticipation and deep awareness of the incredible wonder of the sacrament you are going to receive – your personal gift from your Father God of his Holy spirit.

Think about it as your spiritual seat belt. Your insurance for life’s journey, your help line in every situation with free call 24/7 forever. The best and most powerful friend you will ever have.

Now you will find it easier to tune in to Father God himself, and just remember there is nothing he hasn’t dealt with before. From time to time God will put thoughts in your mind, like He is giving you a nudge.

Often it will be just little “suggestions” that can make a big difference in someone’s life, and their outlook on life, and in your life too. We pray you will open your eyes, your mind and your heart to God’s promptings big or small, and don’t be too quick to say to yourself, “I don’t think I can handle that.”

Just know and be assured of one thing, if God asks (suggests) you to do something it means He has confidence in you and will help, guide and strengthen you, so do not be afraid of the God-inspired challenges.

As you continue life’s journey remember who you are, and come to realise you are indeed God’s new and improved 2006 model. Filled with more power, clearer vision and with the best lifetime. Guaranteed route finder ever – to guide you safely home.
Have a great journey!
God is with you

Thanks Vision for 'Missing Link' article

DEAR EDITOR: I want to thank Vision for their article published on Sunday, April 30, “The Missing Link” written by Vernette Superville.

Her writing was deep and truly spiritual. We the people in Christ must speak out to society without fear. The country is in the hands of God's people, it is essential to unite against evil, to tear down the strongholds upon our land.

Ms Superville words are right, we must “fix me first” and stop blaming others especially the low class. We must act in love and forgiveness and not in wasteful protest.

I want to see my brothers and sisters in Christ do the right thing to win our land back from this evil hold. The word of God in 2 Cor 10:4 says: “our war is not fought with weapons of flesh, yet they are strong enough, in God’s cause to demolish fortresses”.

We, as a society, have the power to change our nation in Christ, we must first take heed ourselves and seek to save the lost. We're in the end time, the devil is working hard to confuse and destroy.

We must also by prayer and fasting seek out God's children that are in need of our help especially the kids. We are all accountable.

I hope Ms Superville words will be understood. I pray for our nation, get up and help the sinner man, instead of condemnation.

Christians, sit by someone you don't like

DEAR EDITOR: I want to thank M De Bruin for the letter “Holding seats a new trend” (May 21). This “trend” should be addressed immediately (by those who hold office) as it does not only happen in the two churches mentioned, but in every church.

It also happens at prayer meetings, rallies etc. People seem to want to sit by someone they know and who they can talk to. I believe that we don’t go to church to carry on conversations but to pray.

I suggest if you want to sit by someone who you would like to sit by, wait for them outside the building and both of you walk in together, in that way you would sit by each other.

Also what they do is to put their prayer book, Bible or handbag on the chair or chairs which they want to reserve and you might think that someone is sitting there already.

Come on Christians, wake up God did not tell us to love those who love us already, but to love our enemies. Sit by someone who you do not like.
G Smith, St Ann’s
