Conference of the Religious
of the Antilles 2007 assembly
 

The 38th Annual General Assembly of the Conference of the Antilles, (CRA) was held at the Immaculate Conception Hostel in Kingston, Jamaica, May 7-11.

The theme of the Assembly was: Creating Right Relationship for Mission.

In her address Sr Priscilla Clement OP, the president, called the participants “to celebrate life and bear witness to the Resurrection – to embrace our struggles and continue to be prophetic in our lifestyle and mission.” 

The assembly was also addressed by the Papal Nuncio Archbishop Thomas Gullickson. Deacon Peter Espeut addressed the Assembly on his findings on the study of Religious Life and values.

The main speakers, were Sr Marie Chin RSM and Fr Joseph Harris CSSp, Fr Peter Mc Isaac SJ wove together the insights of the presenters and the participants with his theological reflection.

Bishop Francis Alleyne OSB, of Guyana served as the representative of the Antilles Episcopal Conference along with Archbishop Lawrence Burke SJ, the President of the Conference.

On the last day of the gathering, a new executive team was elected and installed: Sr Barbara Flores, SCN of Belize as President, Fr Peter Mc Isaac, SJ of Jamaica, Fr Michel Favalier, FMI, Dominica and Sr Jeanne-Marie Chrone, OP from Martinique. They will serve for two years.
