Anticipate conflict
- keep relationships intact

Conflict in a social setting is inevitable. However, successful leaders anticipate conflict and find ways to keep relationships intact.  This was the message of Heather Rodney to participants at the close of the second four-week workshop entitled Communicating for Success, hosted by the Archdiocesan Commission for Communications (ACC).

The ACC will repeat the programme at the North Eastern College, Graham Trace, Ojoe Road, Sangre Grande on four Saturdays: June 23 and 30 and July 14 and 21 from, 9:00 a.m. to 3 p.m., mainly for parishes in the Eastern Vicariate.

Ms Rodney, a facilitator at the Institute for Dispute Resolution Ltd, conducted a lively interactive presentation entitled ‘Leadership and Conflict Resolution’.  Participants of the workshop at the Bishop Mendes Auditorium, Harris Promenade, San Fernando, are expected to form the core of communication teams in their parishes.

Communicating for Success gives participants an awareness of the nature of communication and its technologies.  The course also provides the basics of forming a parish communication team.

Parish Priests and Parish Administrators who need to send representatives to the final workshop at North Eastern College are encouraged to submit the names of two or three persons, who are involved in communications or will be part of a parish communication team, to ACC’s office, 31 Independence Square, Port of Spain.
