Communications Commission's
special guest

Fr Paul Soukup SJ, chair of the Communications Department, at Santa Clara University, California, was guest of the Archdiocesan Commission for Communications, last week.

On Labour Day he conducted a workshop entitled “Media Education in a Parish Setting” for parish media teams, at the Curepe Pastoral Facility. Some 70 persons participated in the session which dealt with the aims and importance of media education, and how children and youth might be engaged in the process.

Last Thursday Fr Soukup led a discussion for priests, parish administrators and religious on the topic “Mission and New Culture”, at the Tunapuna Parish Centre. Later that day, on Trinity Television, he reviewed his recent book Out of Eden: 7 Ways God Restores Blocked Communication in front of a live audience.

While here Fr Soukup paid a courtesy call on Archbishop Edward Gilbert. In picture: Fr Soukup with Archbishop Edward Gilbert and Msgr Cuthbert Alexander at Archbishop’s House.
