Sacred Heart-Delaford patronal feast

By Joycelin Vilma Jackson

The Sacred Heart parish, Delaford comprising Delaford, Roxborough, Goodwood and Speyside celebrated its Patronal Feast of the Sacred Heart on June 23.

We also service L’Anse Fourmi and Bloody Bay. This feast is being celebrated in two parts – the spiritual and festive part. The spiritual part of this celebration was a nine-day novena, which begun on Corpus Christi and was shared by the communities. It ended with a service conducted by the Administrator, Deborah de Rosia.

The festive part is in the form of a family day. This year it will be held on July 16, with Mass beginning at 10.00 a.m. with fun activities at the RC School grounds.

Both Creole and barbecue lunches would be served. It was not held on the actual feast day because of other celebrations, such as harvests and fisherman day on the Windward side of Tobago.
