Young St Lucian answers the call

St Lucian Asha Ayana Auguste, daughter of Anna Auguste of the Morne, Castries has answered the call to the novitiate of the Benedictine Sisters at the Queen of Peace Monastery in Naples, Florida.

Asha attended St Joseph’s Convent High School, Castries. From there she went on to the Sir Arthur Lewis Community college and then Midwestern State University in the United States of America.

Throughout her youth, Asha served the Lord and always tried to please the Lord in whatever she did. She was a member of the Youth of Divine Mercy Prayer Group at the Cathedral parish. Asha taught at the Leon Hess secondary school for three years until July 2005.

After a period of discernment and prayer, she decided to enter the Queen of Peace Monastery, August 3.

February 10 is an important feast for Benedictine Sisters everywhere, but it took on an added significance this year at the Queen of Peace Monastery as Asha entered the novitiate as their very first novice. She received the holy habit of Saint Benedict and the new name of Sister Scholastica in a private ceremony at the monastery.

Let us continue to pray for other young St Lucians like Asha to answer the call to serve in the Lord’s vineyard.
