September 11 was a very eventful day for us at St Francis Girls’ RC School in Belmont. At assembly we were graced with the presence of our parish priest, Fr Herbert Charles, our Spiritual director and CERO, Jean Nurse, and Louisa Antoine, Eucharistic Minister of our parish and former principal.

The occasion was the prize-giving ceremony for the school’s achievement in the 2005-2006 Religious Education Evaluation.

Congratulations were in order as this school, St Francis Girls’ RC was adjudged the winning school and awarded the certificate of gold and a trophy donated by the Catholic Teachers’ Association in commemoration of its success.

Fr Charles encouraged the girls to emulate Jesus, whose work was always “good”. Mrs Nurse and Ms Antoine expressed confidence in the maintenance of the school’s high standard and achievement for the past year and wished the girls success in the 2006-2007 Religious Education Evaluation.
