Sunday September 23, 2007 LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Don't stop praying

DEAR EDITOR: I read with interest the letter of the Catholic father in your issue of September 9 and I sympathise with both he and his wife in their concern and quest to arrest such a situation and deal with it from a rational point of view.

Be not be dismayed, you are not singular in this respect for while you may feel that dedication and fervent prayers have not borne fruit, I suggest that you continue with your prayers to the Holy Spirit earnestly and incessantly. Prayers to the Holy Spirit are found in the book Treasury of Novenas.

May the Holy Spirit guide and bless you and your family.

Police officer a true professional

DEAR EDITOR: I must commend the Police Officer I saw directing traffic on the afternoon of Monday, September 11 after 4.00 p.m. on Park Street, between Henry and Charlotte Sts.

His professional handling of the traffic, yet warm and understanding attitude towards the drivers and pedestrians, and especially to us parents who were trying to pick up our children at Rosary Boys’ School must be recognised.

He is a true example of what true policing really is, taking into consideration he looked extremely young. I’ve had my run-ins with other officers in the past who really behave as if they’re “common-sense impaired”, and show no kind of understanding towards us, the people they’re here to serve.

Young man (officer) keep up the good work, I really admired what I saw on Monday and I’m sure other parents and drivers were as appreciative as I was.

I did not get his badge number, because of the fact he had the traffic flowing smoothly, but I sure hope someone mentions this letter of appreciation and admiration to him.
