IRO alarm over crime

In a press release dated October 10, the Inter-Religious Organisation of Trinidad and Tobago has expressed alarm over the “hideous crime of kidnapping and murder which persist in our country”. The following is the full text of the statement.

“The Inter-Religious Organisation of Trinidad and Tobago (IRO) notes with alarm the hideous crime of kidnapping and murder which persist in our country and acknowledges the initiatives introduced within the Police Service to address the challenge.

The IRO urges the national community to support and cooperate with the Police Service and other state agencies.

The IRO strongly urges those responsible for the kidnappings, release all person/s held against their will and cease the kidnappings forthwith, and that those involved stop the murders immediately.

The IRO invites all in the national community to be in solidarity with the victims and their families and to give them their moral and spiritual support in these trying times.

May we all seek assistance through prayer and perseverance.”
