Sunday November 18, 2007 LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Gender confusion

DEAR EDITOR: Permit me to publicly express my sincere thanks to Fr George Prichett for his most enlightening articles “Beware of Gender Policy and Action Plan” and “Gender, a Deceptive Ideology” published in your newspaper on September 30 and October 28. See Life Truths

Gender is a word that reminds me of my school days when I was learning the grammatical classification of words such as masculine, feminine and neuter. However, nowadays the word “gender” is given a new meaning referring to sex with a particular emphasis on radical feminism.

The result is that serious strife has developed between human males and females to the great detriment of both sexes. This can be attributed to the work of Satan whom Jesus called a “liar and the father of lies” (John 8:44) who excels in the case of the quid pro quo (taking a thing for something else) so as to create confusion on earth.

Regretfully this confusion has reached our own country and, if we all love it, we ought to resist this ideology at all cost. This can be done through Jesus Christ who once declared: “If you make my word your home you will indeed be my disciples, you will learn the truth and the truth will make you free.” (Jn 8:31-32)

Therefore, as disciples of Jesus let us shine the light of truth and thus save our family life, which, at present, is facing so many dangers. If our society, through its politicians mostly, were to follow the pagan policy of the protagonists of “Gender Affairs” then it might not be too long before our society falls into what a writer, Fulton Oursler, describes in his book The Greatest Faith Ever Known (Pg 292), concerning the decadence of the Roman Empire.

“There were so few marriages in Rome (at the time of SS Peter and Paul) that one emperor enacted laws about legacies in a vain attempt to encourage family life. Sodomy and homosexuality were subjects of common talk and humourous verses; the bodies of abandoned babies littered the side alleys or floated in death on the river Tiber. Peter refused to believe such tales until with his own gazing eyes he saw them and wept.”

God created man in the image of himself, in the image of God he created him, male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:27)

Message to TTAC

To all of the altar servers, may God bless all of you and happy 15th anniversary. I was present at last Sunday’s Mass and was so glad to see so many young people who form part of this dynamic ministry.

I want to urge you to always be a good example to your fellow youths and remember to be charitable to those in need, Christmas is approaching, so give something to the poor.

Yes, you may be saying that I should do that too, I know and I will (God willing). Stand proud, stand tall and always be willing to serve God even when things don’t go the way you want them to.

I was so happy to see so many little ones looking so cute in their gowns. Never forget the grace and calling of your ministry.
