Blessing of crèche at Princes Town RC

By A Teacher

It was indeed a joyous and spirit-filled atmosphere at Princes Town RC School on Monday, November 20, as the staff and pupils gathered for the blessing of their crèche. This event was organised under the guidance of the newly-appointed acting principal, Mrs Golah.

The day began with Holy Mass, celebrated by Fr Stephen Geofroy. During the homily Fr Geofroy encouraged the pupils to turn to Jesus as blind Bartimaeus did, for help in their daily walk of life.

He reminded them of the great love that Jesus has for us all and their response should be obedience to parents and teachers and diligence in their school work.

Holy Mass was followed by the blessing of the beautiful crèche erected by Mr Richard, a member of the ancillary staff and decorated by two artistic teachers, Josephine Mac-Quan-Rampersad and Barbara Paynter.

The school choir sang out lustily led by another teacher Dion Persad. This event was a wonderful and fitting experience to begin Advent, and to usher in the upcoming festive season of Christmas. Hats off to all who made this event a great success!
