Presentation Brothers’ College (PBC) has announced the launch of activities to commemorate the diamond jubilee of the school.
The 60th anniversary of the establishment of the school in Grenada will be celebrated under the theme Celebrating its achievement and preparing to face the next decade with rekindled enthusiasm. The exact date is January 2, 2007, but the year-long programme of activities will run until November 21, 2007.
A management committee has been appointed since August 2006 to plan and coordinate the activities for the celebration, aimed at recognising the achievements of those who have given of their time, talent and treasure for the building of the college, the achievements of the school and to focus on the challenges that the school/students will face.
PCB was established on January 2, 1947. The first members of staff were Bros Gregory, Liam and Leonard, and the school was opened with 60 boys in three forms. Currently, PBC has 385 students and a teaching staff of 24, all lay people – male and female.
It is noteworthy that for the first time this year there are no Presentation Brothers on the teaching staff and the present principal is the first lay person to hold the position. |
