As we come to the end of yet another year, we, “The Women of Faith”, would like to take this opportunity to say thanks. Thanks to all who have supported us in our services to the poor and socially displaced, as we continue to provide them with a hot meal twice a month through “The Santa Soup Kitchen”.
Our numbers have grown to 200. We provide hot lunches to 35 street dwellers and 40 families. Unfortunately, due to our limited resources, we are unable to increase this number; that is if we wish to continue providing quality services and nutritious lunches.
We give special thanks to Vena Downs, Carol Inniss, Mary Boyea and Daniel Estrada for their faithful help. Special thanks go out too, to those members of the non-Catholic community, Sumintra and Lena, who have also graciously given their support. They have joined with us recognising that service to God in love goes beyond religious affiliation and is what counts.
As we look forward to the upcoming year, 2007, we welcome the continued support of all those who have supported us thus far as well as the support of those who will come to know us in the future.
We look forward to this support especially in the accomplishment of our goals. These goals are as follows:
• To source a home for the soup kitchen.
• To have a vehicle - a small bus - for transporting of lunches.
• A new, large cooking pot, especially for the cooking of meat.
• Two metal tables.
Again, we thank those mentioned and those not been mentioned, but who have also contributed their support. May God’s richest blessings rain down on us all as we continue to do his work. The Women of Faith – Mary Marcano, Margaret Bruce, and Valerie Hunt.
