Santa Cruz couple celebrates 'silver'
By Eunice Alleyne

The caring of two people for each other epitomises the essence of a true marriage - a partnership shared by two unique individuals dedicated to a life together.

This indeed is a fitting description of the marriage of Rupert and Marcia Arismendez who, with their son Daniel, celebrated their silver wedding anniversary on Friday, December 7.

To mark the special occasion, relatives and friends gathered at the Villa Maria Inn in Maraval at 6:30 p.m. to participate in a Mass of thanksgiving celebrated by the parish priest of Holy Cross, Santa Cruz, Fr Benedict Hilaire.

The evening was delightfully spent with anecdotes of the happy times of the couple - both active members of the parish of Holy Cross. Marcia's colleagues from the Love Movement also rendered three beautiful songs enjoyed by all.

We wish to thank them for their service to God and the Church. May they always find ways to strengthen the special bond with which they are blessed.

I will bethroth you to myself for ever, bethroth you with integrity and justice, with tenderness and love; I will bethroth you to myself with faithfulness and you will come to know Yahweh.” (Hosea 2: 19, 20).
