Tianna attended the prize giving ceremony on Wednesday, November 21 at the Rudranath Capildeo Learning Resource Centre in Couva.
Accompanying her were her teacher, Sharon Worrell, and her parents.
Tianna was awarded several prizes, among them three trophies for placing among the top ten students, for topping the educational district of St Patrick and for placing third in the competition.
She was narrowly beaten by Matthew Allahar of Chaguanas Government who placed second and Brandon Balsingh of San Fernando TML who placed first. Tianna, was, however the top female competitor.
Success is the result of hard work and practice and Tianna’s experience was no exception. Although she was prepared during her normal class hours, Tianna often had to give up much of her lunch time to prepare for the examinations. She did so without complaint.
Tianna’s parents, Darryl and Veron Corrie are very proud of her. They have been very supportive of her, and her siblings and other relatives have encouraged her to do her best. Tianna’s faith in God has also played a major role in her success.
What is Tianna’s favourite subject? Mathematics, of course! Let’s hope Tianna’s achievement will spur on all students to work hard in order to achieve success in any field of endeavour. Congratulations Tianna! |
