Exciting Cathedral family day
by Brenda Henry

After plans, energy, time and anticipation, the day arrived for the Catholic Cathedral Family Day, which was held at its car park on July 3, after an absence of many, many years. Amidst the persistent showers it was a success.

There were many stalls and games. As usual the punch board and tin pan games were the best. The art of trying to knock over the pans with a single throw of a pan, was enjoyable fun. Face painting always has a special spot at heart for youngsters.

My personal favourite was the fashion show put on by the Cathedral youths, Genesis. Boy could those youths strut their stuff with style! They wore casual, Chinese, Spanish, African and Indian outfits, not forgetting the evening-wear segment which they strutted with pride.

The music for each segment was just perfect. And we say these youths of today are no good – not those who had the catwalk runway all to themselves. All of you were great.

Thank you for the great modelling. There was one layback – sorry for the late arrival of some of the dishes. Next year we all will be on time. Promise!
