Christ the King RC Church brought the curtain down on their Car/Prize Raffle Fundraiser on Saturday, January 22, with a Prize Giving ceremony held at St. Joseph 's Convent in San Fernando .

Several happy winners were on hand to receive their prizes from Fr Matthew and our generous sponsors. The Raffle Draw was conducted by the NLCB as scheduled on December 29, 2004 at TV6 studios. The results were subsequently published in all the daily newspapers and Catholic News on January 9.

This Raffle Fundraiser was launched back in mid-July 2004 to raise funds for our church re-building project, which commenced in October. It was tough from the word go but team members and parishioners showed dauntless stamina and fortitude in their sales efforts.

Our road sales team and our Parish Treasurer must be given special accolades for the long hours and their boundless generosity of spirit, time and talent. This has been an uplifting and heart warming experience that we will never forget. There was great bonding as a team and we have gotten closer to many of our parishioners. I think this is the true church building that is taking place!

We take this opportunity to thank all the sponsors, the parishes and the larger RC community for their support of our Raffle venture. Special thanks to St. Joseph 's Convent, San Fernando for the use of their premises for the prize giving ceremony. We also thank the many malls and supermarkets that permitted and facilitated raffle ticket sales on their premises.
