DEAR EDITOR: On behalf of the Catholic faithful of Barbados , I want to extend Seasons Greetings and in particular to say thanks for admitting four of us to the faith on November 21.
As stated by Laura Phillips in the issue of November 28, I was around for a little while attending services spasmodically with my wife who is a born Catholic, but to this day she never pressured me to leave the Anglican faith: for that matter when she realised I was becoming closer and closer and just before my conversion, she asked me if I was sure that is what I wanted being the individual I am.
My mind was made up ever since my first visit to the Living Water Community headed by Rosemary Scott, who is doing a wonderful job. My association actually started when on my third drop to the Living Water Community and my wife disembarked my vehicle I happened to ask if it was "a woman's thing" and "a Catholics thing".
Someone said, "No man, come and go up and see"; the rest is now history. I have only missed two sessions since and that was because of an unforeseen incident. Since then I have gone on to play in the choir at Sacred Heart. Again due to the introduction of Rosemary Scott, I am also playing with the Men's Fellowship on Tuesdays and on Wednesday meetings.
I want to say, and I am also speaking for the other three, we are enjoying it and we look forward to the best for the future not only for ourselves, but the Catholic community.
We also want to offer our sincere regards to Louis whom I must say did an excellent job of preparing us for that momentous occasion in our lives.
I know we are new in the faith, but with time we look forward to even greater times and the opportunity to grow with the Church.
In only the past three years, I have seen such a change in my life that it is unbelievable. where I used to read the Bible when I feel to, I can spend at least half of an hour daily and can say prayers daily.
I am feeling great to be a Catholic. Thanks for the opportunity.
Your brother in Christ
