Musical night at St Patrick's Cathedral

It began with some good-old foot tapping, hand clapping, body swaying music, and culminated with the audience on their feet in a grand sing-a-long finale.

Held at St Patrick's Cathedral, the concert which featured the Franciscan and Friends Music Mission, and which was hosted by the Living Water Community ( Barbados ), seems to have been quite the success.

There was a little something for everyone. The opening trio of Denis Grady, Danny Agajanian and Guy Plecash with their upbeat tempo and entertaining repertoire set the stage for the night. The crowd participated by singing along, waving their hands and tapping to the rhythm.

The performers, some of whom touched many hearts as they related their personal stories, were all equally talented.

Their varied musical styles kept the audience's attention with music ranging from country, to jive, the blues, gospel, and even a little reggae, as Barbados 's Derek Fields rounded off the performances with a touching song for the children.

The crowd was as diverse as the performers, comprising of families, the old and the young, members of the various dioceses, as well as people of different religious denominations.

They all came out to hear good, wholesome, Christian music and to support the worthy cause - to raise money for the Living Water Community Barbados Ministry Fund. They were not disappointed.

Many people helped to put this event together and the Community's members came out in their numbers to ensure that it all went as smoothly as possible.

In talking to a few of the performers it became clear that they were deeply moved by the wonderful welcome they had received here in Barbados and were hoping to, perhaps, do an encore performance next year.

It was an event that would surely linger on the minds of the many who filled the church and Barbados was fortunate to have had the opportunity to be ministered to in such a beautiful and powerful way.
