CEBM bids farewell to two stalwarts

In a release to the Catholic News , the Catholic Education Board of Management (Ltd) notes that on August 26, Sister Catherine Therese Mc Comie OP wrote to the principals, ancillary staff, students and parents of the primary sector to announce that both Joyce Smith and herself were demitting office after long and dedicated service to Catholic primary education.

Miss Smith is on record as having “given thirty-six of the best years of her life to CEBM.” Sister Catherine Therese herself served for “some twelve years.”

Everybody in education knows the contribution these two fine women have made. We are truly happy as we reflect on the results of almost half a century of service to the Church and the nation.

As we join in bidding them farewell, we wish them God's blessings and continued health and joy.

The Catholic News , the ancillary staff and the staffs of all the offices at the Catholic Centre, also bids farewell and God's blessings to Joyce Smith and Sr Catherine Therese. We will all miss their presence here at the Catholic Centre.

Sr Catherine Therese will be especially missed during the Advent-Christmas season. It was she who creatively decorated the Centre for the Christmas season and was responsible for the physical and aesthetic maintenance of the Catholic Centre building.

Farewell, Sister and Joyce and thank you for your generous service.
