At the time of this publication at least three weeks have passed since the Carnival season.
Within the Church, it is the Lenten Season, a time of reflection and prayer to come to a place of repentance and then to resurrection of a renewed life in the Spirit.
Within the lives of many this may be a time of challenges and to some a lead up to anticipated crisis. Why? Well if things go true to form, there would be many who had too much alcohol among other mood- altering agents during the Carnival season of revelry and "free up".
Among other things, some may be considering whether they may have contracted a virus that maybe deadly or incurable. Then there is the non-deadly crisis, but crisis nonetheless, of an unplanned pregnancy. Today we want to offer assistance to those in a pregnancy crisis.
Please call us at the Community Centre @ 628-1064 and let us help you with the challenges you maybe facing. There are alternatives to aborting the new life growing in your womb, options that would give you a chance of a healthy and promising future, a life of hope and new positive choices.
Abortion only offers a quick fix and leads to a life of regret, guilt, sterility, depression, death etc.
Take a note of this. While we as a nation face the challenges of developing a 2020 vision, there are some seeking to legalise a procedure now PROVEN to be harmful to women and society i.e. abortion.
There are States in the US that are reversing abortion laws since it was regretfully legalised more than thirty years ago.
Most recently, Mississippi and South Dakota both passed bills to ban abortion with the latter offering no exceptions. In addition, a proposed town to be built in South West Florida will ban abortion and contraception, said its developer and visionary, Thomas S Monaghan. The town is expected to have 11,000 homes ready for occupation by next year. Its name - "Ave Maria".
Located 30 miles east of Naples , it is situated on 5000 acres of land. There are those of us who still believe in community life that can be fashioned after God's plan for family life. Need we report that the "human rights" activists and Planned Parenthood are keeping their eyes on the project?
There have been many states that have been reversing abortion laws or implementing restrictions to have women make informed decisions, e.g. making it compulsory to tell women the increased risk of breast cancer and mandating the mothers to have an ultra-sound to see and hear the heartbeats of their babies.
So ladies, young and old, married and single, regardless of the circumstances of conception, please know and feel confident in calling us at Emmanuel Community for help or even just to have a listening ear. You really do not want to have an abortion ; you want an alternative. We want to help you.
God Bless!
