Parang almost died. Then through the inspired work of Daisy Voisin and the Parang Association, new life came and they succeeded in saving a tradition.
At the opening of the season in Lopinot, after a few bands had performed, the lights went out.
Instead of killing the night, the groups huddled together and mike-less continued singing and having fun. Long live the spirit of parang!
