Cactus lovers

Very few people know the flower in this photo because it belongs to a cactus which blooms only in the night.

Looking at the prickly cactus by day, we could never imagine it could produce such beauty hidden from the view of everyone except the moths!

All of us know prickly people who seem to be such a nuisance. They rub us the wrong way.

Their forbidding exterior repels us. We want to keep as far away as possible.

How to love such people? How to believe in their hidden beauty?

In the film Walk the Line , Johnny Cash suffers from low self-esteem and cannot get along with his father. But one friend is willing to walk the line with him, to see him through his addictions and rough days until finally he gets his act together in the night of his life. She was a cactus lover.

Cactus lovers give us hope. They look for the first signs of the buds appearing and their patience is eventually rewarded in the dead of night.
