Waiting to unfold

In these photos, nature and art are juxtaposed.

The colours of nature are mirrored in the art. Both nature and art are waiting to unfold.

The peacock's full beauty will only be displayed when its tail is opened wide.

The costume's true beauty will only be appreciated when it is danced to music.

Each person's potential needs someone to draw it out. Some of the most precious moments at Carnival come when a young person composes a tune for the first time and gets up to sing before an expectant audience.

I still remember seeing the schoolgirl, Patrice Roberts performing for Toco/Matelot school children.

At this time of year, we celebrate the people behind the scenes, the composers, the drillers in the steelband, the arrangers, seamstresses, trainers - all those who see the potential of others and bring it to our attention.
