Beauty in difference

After six weeks of looking at green in our churches, our eyes are drawn to the colour purple.

Through the difference in colour, we are made to take note of a new phase in our following of Jesus in His journey to Calvary.

On close examination of the purple orchid, one can see that every petal has different markings.

My knowledge of botany (lack of it!) does not allow me to say how rare this is within the same flower.

How boring the world would be if we were all the same! How terrible if we were all cloned from the same human being!

There is beauty in difference, Even God is diversity. The Father is not the Son and the Son is not the Holy Spirit. What can this mean for Lent? There is an asceticism in living this in our daily life that is as hard as any fasting or abstinence!
