Harvest days celebrate the abundance of God's gifts to us.
Plenty people! Plenty food! Plenty drink! Plenty stalls! Plenty money!!!
As the maxis arrive, we meet people we have not seen in years.
Our non-churchgoers feel at home, glad to contribute something of their time, talent, and treasure.
The Mass is joyful and the singing full of spirit and warmth. Plenty music!
We enjoy the food, assessing like true Trins the quality of the coo-coo and callaloo – not to mention if there is buttered cassava or pong plantain as a treat.
When Jesus fed the five thousand, there were twelve baskets full of scraps left over. Jesus was not stingy in his giving. At Cana, he produced 12 gallons of top quality wine. Plenty! Plenty!
I wonder if I am the only person who did not know the name of the large fruit in our photo. I never tasted it yet! There is always more to savour in our world of plenty. |
