Dear Readers
Since we met last, Touch of Christ has been involved in many activities: a Deaf Spelling Bee where one of our members was the winner – you can read about this on page four, our third Sports and Family Day at Presentation College, San Fernando – you can see some of what you missed on page three, and the recently concluded Drama Fest.
To encourage you further in learning sign language we have included some new vocabulary on page 2. However we would like to remind you that Sign Language cannot be learned successfully without interaction with Deaf persons. This brings us to our page one opinion on the Government wishing to have Sign Language at university level.
We also include an article from the English weekly The Tablet. We ask you to pray for our regular editor, Kenwyn Noel, who is ill.
Warm thank yous to everyone who helped at our Sports Day: Mr Jaikeransingh, Principal of Presentation College, Presentation Boy Scouts, Kapok Hotel, Umilta Mitchell, Bernadette Austin, Dexter De Vignes, Joseph Meharris, Pauline Philbert, Denise Williams, the March Past judges, Kate Soo Lum and all the anonymous angels who always help us. Hopefully I have not forgotten anyone.
We wish all our young persons a safe and happy vacation.
God bless!
