Congratulations to 'Touch of Christ'

By June Bruton

CONGRATULATIONS to Touch of Christ for bringing together a very large number of deaf people from all parts of T&T for a third Sports and Family Day.

Families and friends of Deaf met at the Presentation College Grounds on Saturday, June 30. All had a wonderful time.  Further congratulations to the Team Leaders for some of the most creative March Past routines.

They truly and imaginatively depicted the Sports Heroes Ato Boldon, Brian Lara, Giselle Salandy, and George Bovell.  Ironically, Bovell Team knocked out Salandy "on the count".

The routine was AWESOME!!  Special congratulations to the choreographer Kenton Primus.  Congratulations to North for winning both the March Past and Overall Winners Titles.  Congratulations to Central who won the Small Goal Football trophy.  Congratulations to all the planners and hard working supporters.  It was a GREAT DAY!  THANK YOU JESUS.

I wish to say a special congratulation to Kenwyn Noel, our regular editor, who after all the effort and hard work is now ill in bed.  We are praying for you, Kenwyn, and hope you are back with us soon.  We love you.

CONGRATULATIONS are also in order for our talented playwright, actors and actresses, and supporting team members. They participated in the recent Youth Drama Fest and made it to the Finals on July 8.

We discovered talent and skills that we did not know existed. Members of the group had to think up immediate solutions to problems that occurred. It was a great experience. The group placed sixth out of the eight finalists and Lori Rodrigues received an award for Outstanding Female Actress.

Congratulations Lori. Congratulations Chrystal Dial who wrote the basic story including the final song and created props for the set. Congratulations also, to Bryan Rodrigues who became stand-in (as Father) for Kenwyn Noel, just the Friday before the event.

He did a wonderful job. All characters seemed to have fitted their parts perfectly.  They included - Anya Adams, Donna Ping Foon, Keil Mitchell, Anthony Caruth and Christopher Goormansingh.

CONGRATULATIONS to each and every one of you.
I wish to specially mention Anthony Caruth who attended every session that was called.  On one occasion he was the only person who turned up at the venue.  Congratulations Anthony for that extra commitment to duty.

Congratulations to the back-stage crew - Jassodra Bedasie and Eve Frederick and at the semi-finals Larry Jaggan and Luann Lee Hugh.  In the short time, with minimum support, you faced all challenges and did a marvellous job.  CONGRATULATIONS!!! THANK YOU JESUS.

I am truly proud of you “Touch of Christ Deaf Community” for growing and becoming more independent.  I look forward to improved efforts and more serious commitment.  Continue to trust in the Lord with all your heart.  Remember Jesus NEVER fails.  He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
